Here in my neck of the woods today, the high was 56 degrees. It's September 21, 2018; the first day of Fall. The weather was right on time. Although it hardly gets hot here in Minnesota, the lower temperature today was significant enough to tell us all to get ready for Fall. I went out to the grocery store to pick up a few items and realized from all the decor and of course the cooler weather that I could no longer hold back from posting this painting. I actually finished it during the Summer for an October 1st posting. But with all the Halloween stuff that is already out, I thought 'what the heck' -- time to post what I am calling "Korn Krazy". I painted this with a lot of reminiscent love in my heart. Love for the beginning of Fall, love for Halloween, and oh my goodness -- Candy Corn; my absolute favorite Halloween candy ever!
This painting also represents some 'firsts' for me in art. It is my first time ever attempting to painting Indian Corn and Candy Corn. It is also my first official Annual Halloween painting. I have already finished my Thanksgiving painting (coming in November) and almost finished with my 4th Annual Christmas painting (really believe you will enjoy it). I also hope to paint another 'Fall'-type painting and a 'Winter'-type painting to round off the triciary set of holidays we have coming up over the next 100-plus days.
Finally, a word about family. Family is what makes the holidays for me. I love all my family and the days we have together are less about gifts or money and more about time and togetherness; priceless commodities. My wife, Vanessa is my best critic and advisor of my art -- but I'd like to make a special shout-out. To my father-in-law, Harold. You are so appreciated and loved. Your comments you give me about my artwork and writing is a constant source of inspiration. I look forward to painting the final production of your hobby; your truck. That's something to look forward to in 2019. It's already on my list of painting to-do's.
So, for all, welcome to Fall 2018. Enjoy the upcoming holidays. Most of all, enjoy one another. Love one another. That's what truly makes the world go 'round!
Take care!
