TmagiK’s Big Cat Series
The Predator
I’m back! I say that because it’s been nearly a year since I’ve posted anything of quality. So, for my return, I present to you a new painting that I affectionately call “The Predator”. This is the third painting of a large cat that I really enjoy. In 2016 I painted “The Lurker”, a tiger (it is also on this site). In 2018 I painted “The Stalker”, a black panther. And now, “The Predator, a jaguar. I really enjoyed painting this delightful creature. I paid particular attention to the eyes. I wanted to truly reflect a ‘hunger’ but yet at the same time, ‘patience’. I learned some years ago that jaguars, when hunting, only land a meal 10% of the time. Can you imagine going to the grocery store 10 times, spending time, effort, and money but walk away with a meal only 1 of those times? Well, that’s the jaguar. He has to be patient to be successful. I guess us human beings could learn a lot from that! But he’s a magnificent creature! I hope you enjoy the painting as much as I did painting it! Until then, take care, stay safe, especially during these COVID-19 days!

Artist/Owner
For the month of June 2018, I am submitting a 'double feature' -- what I'd like to call the "Tale of Two Kitties". So, from two years ago, I am reprising "The Lurker". To date, this 'kitty' is the most popular painting from my current catalog of art. He is also featured in one or two of my art videos (see "About Tmagikart" section) He even drew the attention of a person from somewhere in the world, for whom I created 'The Spirit Beast" for (See section titled "TmagikArt Paintings 3"). Originally, I was going to simply post "The Lurker" as a reprise and leave it at that, but the more I looked at 'him', the more I wanted to do another 'kitty-kat'.
Therefore, I present to you a brand new painting, appropriately named by my wife, Vanessa as "The Stalker". I have painted black panthers before. I even have one in my Tmagikart Archives section. But this one was a lot of fun. He is definitely on the prowl. My son, Corey commented he kind of looks like my cat Yabbie -- who is a stalker as well. Just ask my granddaughter, Airikah, who thinks he's constantly trying to get her (he's not). But "The Stalker" would, if he so chose to, for sure.
Again, I focus on the eyes in all of my paintings. There needs to be life. And within that God-given, created life of a being is a soul-focused intent. "The Lurker" intends to catch you by surprise as he sinks into his eco-friendly environment while "The Stalker" is simply heading towards you with intent to get to you (so run!). Well, okay, so the month of June finds me having some more fun with my art. I hope you enjoy this new piece along with an older work. I thought they both belong together; hence the title, "Tale of Two Kitties".
Enjoy and please, drop me a text or email. I love to hear your comments!
