Red Dawn

I am pleased to submit the second painting of my 'umbrella' series.  I am calling this one Red Dawn.  The first of this series was published some months ago and is named Rain Strolling (can be seen here, 4th painting down).  Red Dawn is a special love of mine now.  I really enjoyed painting it.  I wanted to depict a dual stream of thought.  This style of painting presents a lack of clarity while the subject is clear and confident.  For me, Red Dawn represents every strong woman I've ever known in my lifetime, starting with my wife Vanessa.  My subject's stride is determined and undettered by mother nature's inconvenient folly.  I chose a color scheme to exhibit certain emotions of my subject.  Sophisticated in her choices of attire and accessories, the soft undertones with scattered light and shadows reveals who she really is; kind, thoughtful.   I used soft hues to literally paint her sense of self while the bolder colors express her desire to succeed.  Overall, I wanted the painting to be easy on the eyes and give the viewer a sense of calm.

Well, that's the thought I had while painting this marvelous piece.  As a spectator, you'll have your own perception; equally important.  That's what art is all about and what I enjoy most; interpretation and communication.  Speaking of communiction, drop me a text or email and let me know what you think.  I appreciate hearing from you.  Enjoy and thank you for stopping by Tmagik Art!

Rain Strolling

The essence of life is what I look for in my journey.   Like the three strollers in this painting of mine, the 'Path' isn't always clear. I've discovered that's ok.  Unlike my rain-strollers, I haven't always had an umbrella.   Yet, I still made it to my destination in one piece,  and happily.   Remember Gene Kelly?  Yes, he was singin' in the rain.   In this depiction,  I have included hope for the journey... color,  light, and an unseasonable sense of what's to come.   Thank you for stopping by to see my depiction of one of life's most joyous events; Rain Strolling.

Reunited

This is a very personal piece to me and one I did upon request from my wife.  This painting is the third installment to my "Umbrella Series".  I have named it 'Reunited'.  The other two of this series are named "Red Dawn" and "Rain Strollers" (located elsewhere here on my website).

This piece reflects deep emotion.  Something I have been through.  The colors represent life and liberty.  The style denotes unclarity.  The focus involves two people who have come through something...through a haze, through a bit of 'rain', but aptly made it back to one another.  Unlike my other two in this series, the 'umbrella' is almost disguised, as it represents others that look in on this reunion and simply do not see what kept these two out of the 'rain'.  However, here they are, perfectly covered -- and Reunited.  Their world, their colors, their love for one another simply ignores the vague faint of brush strokes that speckles their past.  The brilliance of what is around them excites their wantedness to move forward.  This is love.  This is true reconcilliation.  This is my gift to all those out there who may have lost their way.  Know there is always hope.
